Suffolk Sawmill

A converted 17th century sawmill on a sensitive site within the Woolverstone Conservation Area called for an innovative and sympathetic addition. The new exposed glulam frame is constructed with modern interpretations of the historic details of the original frame, and complemented by frameless glazing and black weatherboarding.

The structure draws new connections with the existing kitchen in the centre of the house, and provides a flexible dining area which opens out to the mature gardens to the east and raised herb planting beds to the south.
