Full house refurbishment and ground floor extension of an end of terrace in a Conservation Area in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. The site’s prominence in views from two streets required careful consideration and a sensitive approach, respecting the character of the area. The scheme included the replacement of an existing poor quality extension and addition of a side infill, creating an open-plan kitchen/dining/family room with improved access to the generous garden and improved natural light levels internally. Historic features such as sash windows, fireplaces and the staircase were retained and restored throughout.
